Congaloosh 2012: September 28-30

The annual Adventurers Club fan convention, Congaloosh, will not be free this year (it was in 2011) but will only cost $19.37 (get it?) or $25 at the door. This year's theme is Adventures Gone Wong (referring of course to The House of Wong, sponsor of the Adventurers Club Radiothon show). Once again I can't make it, so if you are going please take video and photos and post them online. I'll make it one of these years, hopefully when the club has reopened. Of course the price of admission will go up if that ever happens, but I'll bet it would be the most well attended Congaloosh ever.

Pleasure Island Club Reopens!

Well, not the Adventurers Club. The Comedy Warehouse has reopened, at least temporarily and I don't know what the hours currently are. Its not the Adventurers Club, but its a start! And from what I'm hearing, the shows are packed! Exclamation mark!

In honor of this event and the Castmember Service event that took place, I am introducing a new tag/label to this blog: "Reopening"

I hope that tag gets a lot of use.

The Colonel's Songs

Often times (usually always) when the Colonel is roused from "duty" to sing the Adventurers Club All Purpose Theme Song he will instead begin singing other songs including:

• Drop your drawers, drop your drawers, I'll drop mine if you'll drop yours (a song sung by Kazoo in the library)

• I love to go swimming with bow-legged women and swim between their legs

• Late one evening after dark, we goose the statues in the park, if Sherman's horse can take it why can't you? (after Dvorak's Humoresque)

The Adventurers Club vs The Explorers Club

Here's another Disney club for adventurers that closed. This one is the Explorers Club in Disneyland, Paris. It was a table service restaurant where actors portraying famous explorers and adventurers on stage and there were animatronic plants and animals. A year after opening this table service restaurant closed and was replaced with Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost.
